This event caused the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.

The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage taken after getting out of a car park lift, authorities reported.

A young child was one of the people hurt in the event. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.

This event – described by police as was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – caused disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
