Jet Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Land in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
A jet ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the jet's front window, per an official statement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The aircraft touched down based on established safety measures and all individuals on the flight, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative said in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This incident does not mark the first occasion that a American defense plane carrying a high-ranking official has suffered technical problems.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to turn back to Washington after experiencing a technical issue.
